3rd Test between India and Australia ends in draw NEW DELHI:The third Test between India and Australia ended in a draw on the fifth and final day at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here on Sunday.

India is already leading the series 1-0.

India after tea on the final day declared at 208 for five, giving Australia a winning target of 245 runs.

Australia scored 31 without any loss by the end when the match was declared as draw.

For India, Gautam Gambhir made 36, Sachin Tendulkar hit 47 while Venkatsai Laxman and Sourav Ganguly were unbeaten on 59 and 32, respectively.

India had made 613-7 declared in the first innings with the help of double centuries by Gambhir (206) and Laxman (200 not out).

Australia in reply scored 577 runs as Michel Clarke top scored with 112. Other main scorers were Ricky Ponting (87), Matthew Hayden (83), Simon Katich (64) and Michael Hussey (53).

For India, part-time spinner Virender Sehwag was the most successful bowler with a maiden five-wicket haul while captain Anil Kumble claimed three and Amit Mishra took two wickets.
